COLREG Tutor

Over the past few weeks, I have been working on a little program to help people who are learning or revising the Collision Regulations for their Orals Examinations.

Having moved to using a Mac during my cadetship one of the small annoyances I have come across is that while you can get a few programs for Windows there is very little geared towards Cadets or Officers that are using Macs. I also found many of these programs didn’t really help me with learning due to the way they worked or asked the questions.

So with this in mind I have created a program I am calling COLREG Tutor which runs on both Mac OS X and Windows, it currently is able to help you learn;

  • Morse Code
  • Flags & their single-letter meanings
  • Buoyage
  • Lights & Shapes
  • Rule of the Road Situations

The initial version features a large library of situations and lights and shapes as well as all morse code, flags and buoyage. Future versions will include additional functionalities and an even larger library of lights and rule of the road situations.

I have created a page explaining all about it, located at http://colreg.alistairbaillie.co.uk and for readers of my blog, if you choose to purchase a copy, you can use discount code 3489CAC9 which will give you it for £6.00 until the 31st of August 2016.
