Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

We’ll in keeping with traditions I hope you all had a merry and enjoyable Christmas wherever you were in the world!

As was the case last year I ended up spending Christmas at home, having left ship at the end of November – unlike last year however I strategically got home before the weather caused all the chaos that I got stuck in last year!

I was meant to be going to DisneyLand Paris with some friends from the Island Escape, unfortunately for me it started snowing very heavily the morning before I was due to be going – it was pretty much all over the news in the UK that week – and by midday Air France had cancelled the flight I was booked onto the following day (with no other available flights)! So I was left stuck at home in the cold while my lovely friends who fortunately live down on the south coast went and enjoyed themselves 🙂

New Year’s are traditionally a time for change and well after spending the past year and a half working with V. Ships Leisure onboard the Minerva I have decided it is time to move on, so I will be joining a new ship and new company at the start of February.

Since I have some time off at the moment and I am rather bored, if any of you can think of some questions you would like answered about the Merchant Navy, cruise ship life or cruising in general, please feel free to comment on this post or send me an email and I will do my best to answer them over the coming weeks.

So all that is really left for me to say if, enjoy the Hogmanay celebrations wherever you are and I’ll continue next year – where I promise to write a bit more.
